How are photo patches made?
Our process of making custom picture patches is easy as cake; here it goes:
Printing your photo:
First order of business, we start printing your digital photo on a special sublimation paper via our Sawgrass SG1000 sublimation printer (This makes it easy for us to create vibrant & H.D. images).
Transfer the Image:
To make sure that the photo is crisp and clear, we use a heat press to transfer the printed image to a piece of white patch material.
Stabilize the Patch:
To give the patch the right stability, we apply a layer of Heat Spun to the back of the patch material. With this, we make sure that the patch holds its shape without getting drifted away.
Embroider the Border:
We then hoop the patch and place it in an embroidery machine, like the Avance 1501C. This step is added for a durable embroidered border around your patch.
Apply Heat Seal:
To make the patch ready for application, we add Heat Seal to the back. This allows the patch to be easily heat-applied onto any item.
Cut & Finish:
We use a hot knife to cut out the patch, sealing the edges to prevent fraying.
